Germany's Opportunity Card lets non-EU nationals enter Germany to look for work without a job offer.
You qualify directly with a German or fully recognised qualification. Otherwise you need a state-recognised degree or a vocational qualification of at least two years, at least 6 points on the points system, and German at A1 or English at B2. Everyone must show they can support themselves, either with a blocked account of at least €1,091 per month (2026 figure) or a formal declaration of commitment.
How to apply: apply online through the Federal Foreign Office's Consular Services Portal and attend an appointment at the German mission. The visa fee is €75. Once you find a job in Germany, you switch to a work residence permit.
