Ireland's public health service (HSE) recruits internationally for more than 800 job grades, including nurses, midwives, consultants and health and social care professionals. You must register with the relevant Irish regulator before you can practise. For nurses and midwives, that is NMBI.

Non-EEA hires in in-demand roles may qualify for a Critical Skills Employment Permit. It requires a job offer of at least two years, the fee is €1,000, and the minimum salary for listed roles is €40,904. The permit leads on to Stamp 4 residence, and spouses can work.
